After a detailed case-history that tells us about your past health, the next thing we'll do is perform a physical examination. This is a way for us to check out how well your body functions and narrow down the cause of your symptoms. We'll evaluate movement, flexibility, balance and vital signs. Orthopedic and neurologic testing will also be done, as well as mapping of trigger points, myospasms and checks for spinal weakness.
Chiropractic x-rays are absolutely essential to treatment in our office. They give us a visual record of your spine's history, and they can tell us why you're hurting now. X-rays help us identify the problem areas immediately, so we can give you the right treatment, right away.
Our physiotherapy and rehab department serves two purposes: to relieve pain, and to condition your muscular support system. Since getting you out of pain is job one, we'll prescribe the therapies that work best with your condition. Then we'll focus on strengthening and conditioning your muscular system. This will help "lock-in" your benefits over the long haul.
For patients with severe or long-standing back problems,(i.e., sciatica or disc problems) we're proud to offer the latest medical breakthrough: Spinal Decompression Therapy. This comfortable, non-surgical treatment works by gently stretching the spine, taking pressure off damaged tissues and allowing them to heal. Decompression Therapy is a comprehensive program of spinal rehabilitation, combined with key therapies, that has proven exceptionally effective with both cervical and lumbar conditions. Ask us if this treatment is right for you.
Acupuncture is an important adjunct in our treatment at the office. We do both the traditional acupuncture which is treatment of the organs, as well as to use it as a source of pain relief. Acupuncture will release the endorphins and enkephalins which are your own natural pain killers.
